Warrant Officer Class One Greg Johnson - Corps Regimental Sergeant Major, Royal Australian Corps of Transport
Warrant Officer Class One Greg Johnson enlisted into the ARA on 19 February 1986. After recruit training he was allocated to the Royal Australian Corps of Transport as a driver. He completed his initial employment training at Puckapunyal and was posted to 9 Transport Squadron in Townsville.
As a junior soldier Warrant Officer Greg Johnson undertook a number of corps and non corps postings including a Corporal driver at Canungra, a Recruit Instructor at the 1st Recruit Training Battalion Kapooka, and a Regimental Police Corporal at 26 Transport Squadron Puckapunyal.
As a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, Warrant Officer Greg Johnson undertook postings within Land Command and Training Command. These postings included the 1st Recruit Training Battalion for a second posting as a Platoon Sergeant, and 26 Transport Squadron as a Troop Sergeant.
In January 2003, Warrant Officer Greg Johnson was posted to the 51st Battalion the Far North Queensland Regiment as the Operations Warrant Officer and shortly after he was posted to the 3rd Combat Services Support Battalion as the Squadron Sergeant Major of the 9th Transport Squadron. In January 2008, Warrant Officer Greg Johnson was posted to the Soldier Career Management Agency as the Career Manager for the Royal Australian Corp of Transport. Warrant Officer Johnson was posted to the 4th Combat Service Support Battalion as the RSM in January 2010.
Warrant Officer Greg Johnson has seen operational service with INTERFET East Timor from October 1999 to February 2000 as the Troop Sergeant of the 86th Transport Troop attached to the 10th Force Support Battalion. Warrant Officer Class One Greg Johnson deployed on Operation Azure as a United Nations Military Observer in the Sudan from May to December 2011 and was awarded the Australian Service Medal and United Nations Medal Sudan.
Warrant Officer Class One Greg Johnson completed the Regimental Sergeant Majors Course in 2007 and assumed his current appointment as the RSM of the Army School of Transport and Corps RSM in January 2013.
Warrant Officer Greg Johnson is a keen golfer, supports all sports including both forms of rugby, cricket and is a member and avid supporter of the Melbourne Football Club.
